Hey Mamilennials!
We are Jocelyn and Lauren, two Latina millennial girl moms and BFFs! Mamihood has been a wild ride for us both, and we’ve learned a lot along the way mostly through trial and error and by simply just figuring it out as we go. In scouring the internet for voices like ours we found a void that we wanted to fill…enter: Mamilennials. We created the Mamilennials community because we wanted to build a safe and supportive space where Latina millennial moms could come together to share their experiences, exchange advice, and process motherhood in real time.
As we spoke to other mamilennials in the throes of motherhood, we learned that we are not alone and that each of us has a different perspective. We’ve loved hearing mami’s experiences with their birth stories, how they’re navigating careers, juggling toddler tantrums, and what you really need on your registry. We are so excited to continue the conversation with you on those topics and so much more!
A little more about us –
We went to the same college but ironically didn’t become best friends until after graduation. A mix of mutual friendships and a cliché post-grad Eurotrip brought us together and since then, we’ve been inseparable. From engagements to weddings and babies, we’ve been there for each other through it all.
Jocelyn is a Scorpio with Salvadoran roots, mom to one-year-old, Rora, and four-year-old frenchie, Renzo. Lauren is a Capricorn with Venezuelan-Paraguayan roots, mom to Mila (4) and Leila (6 months), and dog mom to Bella (8). Lauren loves working out “just for fun”, while Jocelyn loves running to the polls! We’re both Type A to our core, which means we’re planners with big dreams but also know when it’s time to laugh at ourselves. When we’re not chasing kids, you’ll probably find us watching reality TV, planning our next adventure, or going to new restaurants and laughing at Jocelyn’s habit of never looking at the menu. Most importantly, we take pride in holding space for one another and reminding each other that navigating life, marriage, and motherhood is hard—but we know we can do hard things.
Mamihood can feel overwhelming, isolating, and messy but it can also be full of joy, connection, and growth when we share it together. That’s why we’re so grateful you’re here. We hope Mamilennials becomes a supportive corner of the internet you can always come back to. Thank you for being part of this community.
Con Cariño,
Jocelyn & Lauren
